Early Friendships

Friendship

Some say preschool isn’t necessary…early education isn’t important.  I disagree!!!  Aside from what I have witnessed these four cuties learn, I have seen incredible bonds and friendships form in just 3 short weeks!  {love}

Why friendships at this age are important:

  • Creating friendships develops life skills that will increase your child’s wisdom, confidence and self-esteem.
  • They will learn how to deal with conflict and adversity. Conflict does arise among friends and as a teacher, I will find perfect opportunities to teach your children how to navigate through conflict.
  • The children will get a sense of building their own community when they establish new friendships.
  • The opportunity to develop leadership skills increases as children play with other children.
  • The ability to make decisions is increased when children play with peers without micromanaging from adults.
  • The opportunity of playing freely with other children helps them develop their imagination which is important for a child’s development.

In order for these friendships to form, children need to be available to each other for play and other activities.  At Square Roots Preschool, we offer a variety of experiences to  interact with their peers in order to practice their social skills.  Check out our Daily Schedule here to see!
